Dr. Raj Maini completed his medical school at the University of London, United Kingdom, and specialized in ophthalmology at the University of Cambridge. He completed specialized fellowship training in Corneal surgery (including transplantation) and laser refractive surgery at the University of Melbourne, Australia, as well as Oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery (including botox and blepharoplasty techniques) at the University of London, United Kingdom. He is fluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Swahili. As a skilled surgeon and clinician, he takes pride in his ability to communicate with patients.
Dr. Maini has special interests and extensive experience in corneal transplantation, cataract, laser refractive surgery, and plastic surgery around the eye and has performed over 10,000 ocular procedures. He is committed to and utilizes the latest technology and techniques to achieve the best outcomes in visual rehabilitation and cosmesis solutions for each patient.
Dr. Maini has been personally involved in surgical teaching and training of over fifty ophthalmologists in advanced cataract and corneal surgical techniques. He is on staff for Orbis International as a trainer in Corneal surgery worldwide.
Dr. Maini has extensive clinical research experience during and after residency and has presented his results at numerous conferences worldwide. He has been awarded prizes at medical school and for his postgraduate research and has authored over thirty scientific publications in renowned International Ophthalmic Journals.
