UltraView XLINKING™

If you have heard of keratoconus treatment, you or someone you know is likely a sufferer. The UELC clinic is a leader in effectively treating keratoconus with the advanced UltraView XLINKING™ procedure.

Keratoconus is a degenerative eye disorder that causes thinning and cone-like steepening of the ordinarily dome-shaped cornea. This steepening results in distorted vision, increased sensitivity to glare and light, and reduced visual acuity. Once considered a relatively rare disorder, keratoconus is on the rise, now occurring in 1 in 500 people versus approximately 1 in 2000 in the past. However, the specific underlying causes of keratoconus remain unknown.

The weakening of the cornea in keratoconus patients is due to an imbalance of enzymes within the cornea itself, rendering the eye unable to fight off excess amounts of damaging ‘reactive species’ chemicals. Reactive species chemicals are essentially the free radicals you may have heard of in connection with anti-aging skin care products. Free radicals cause skin damage and are also the culprits behind oxidative damage to the cornea. Patients with keratoconus cannot sufficiently clear away the reactive species, leading to the toxic accumulation of the reactive species and eventual deterioration of the cornea from their buildup.

Botox

At UELC, we know that BOTOX Is NOT meant to create the frozen face! Instead, it’s used to tone down the muscle activation that continuously occurs throughout the day, causing lines and wrinkles over time. Dr.Raj Maini and our team know the proper placement of Botox to disenable muscles and how frequently it needs to be part of your regime during the year to accomplish a more subtle and rejuvenated YOU.

Blepharoplasty And Browpexy

The eyelids are one of the first areas to show the effect of aging and fatigue. Drooping eyelids, dark circles, and puffy under-eye bags can make you look older than you are and may make you feel less confident about your appearance.

If under-eye concealers, targeted eye-firming creams, and getting plenty of rest hasn’t helped reduce the bags under your eyes, there is a way to permanently regain a more youthful and refreshed eye area: eyelid surgery.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove underlying fat and excess skin from the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. It is sometimes used to add an upper eyelid crease for those who have monolids. It’s a short and easy procedure that can significantly enhance your appearance. UELC has well-equipped cosmetic clinics for eyelid surgery in Vaughan, Brampton, and Toronto to help you.
